This is the Shaughnessy area of Vancouver from 1947. Old Shaughnessy Golf Course, near the center of the image, became the VanDusen Botanical Garden 28 years after this photo was taken. Vancouver College can be seen in just left and below the center of the image.

The old Shaughnessy Heights Golf Club also had several holes (numbers 12-16) on the east side of Oak Street, where Eric Hamber Secondary School is now. There were two further holes (5 and 6) which are the ones at the bottom right in the photo, running parallel to each other south of 37th on the west side of Oak.

Which direction is this facing? What is the field (golf course?) in the bottom right of the photo?

This image is taken to the North. I'm not sure about that little field in the lower-right. Maybe someone else knows?

You can see Shaughnessy Elementary and Little Flower Academy schools on the far left, about 1/4 down the image on King Edward Ave and Granville.
