BO-47-1453 : Work Point Barracks, Esquimalt

Mark

These are the Work Point Barracks in Esquimalt, just outside Victoria, from 1947. Unfortunately the image is not the sharpest, but you get a great view of the Canadian Forces Base along with Imperial Oil and Esquimalt Harbour way off in the distance.

The text under this 1947 photograph has a misnomer; the part that says, “a great view of the Canadian Force Base along with” should read ‘a great view of the military barracks along with’. The reason being at the time (1947) it was the Headquarters of The Royal Canadian School of Artillery and not CFB Esquimalt.
