BO-48-2809 : Kitsilano Apartments

Mark

This is a really low altitude shot of some apartments in Vancouver from 1948. The intersection is the corner of Cornwall Avenue and Vine Street just south of Kitsilano Beach Park. Surprisingly, the area still looks pretty similar.

Melton Court consists of two, three-storey buildings built in 1924 in Georgian Revival architectural style, one of the first apartments built in this neighbourhood. In 1982, it was transformed into a housing cooperative with several private strata units; the first project in Vancouver to use this mixed formula. Melton Court is listed in the City of Vancouver Heritage Register, and the property has received several heritage awards.
