Requests
Requests Update
The old method of requesting images wasn’t really working out so they have been archived. I was finding it really difficult to pour through hundreds of handwritten pages looking for particular keywords to try to find a requested area. So to take this pressure off myself, I have transcribed all three index books into a searchable PDF document so that everyone has the ability look for images. This document is available from the menu item “Image Index.” By having the “requestor” do the searching, it allows me to spend more time scanning and retouching, and less time searching.
Please use this PDF file to attempt to locate the image you may be interested in and then place the request giving the exact number of the image. I will confirm that the negative is actually available (some are not) and then place it in the queue for scanning.
Please make requests using the comments section at the bottom of this page only. While I cannot promise that I will be able to fulfil your specific request, I will try to use your requests to order which areas I will scan next. I will do my best to get new scans online every week, but I have a one year old that tends to occupy a lot of my time, so please be patient.

Posted 62-10. 62-9 is pretty much identical.
I am trying to pinpoint the location of the old speedway in Haney BC. It was active from 1959-66. Old advertisements indicate it was 2M East of Haney on Lougheed. I believe it may have been at the corner of what is now Cottonwood drive and 116 ave. I found 3 possible negative in your database, BO-47-1810, BO-54-232 & 233.
Hi, I took a look at those negatives. BO-47-1810 is Stave Lake in Ruskin. BO-54-232 is already online, seems to be the Haney Bypass. 233 is pretty much EXACTLY the same image as 232, only about 50 meters east.
thanks for looking, the search continues….
Hello,
great website & aerial photographs!
I am looking for any pictures related to the Kettle Valley Railway. The pictures listed below might have some details in that regards:
BO-46- 373 Penticton water front, shooting S
BO-46- 374 Penticton water front, shooting NW
BO-46- 375 Penticton water front, shooting SW
BO-46- 376 Penticton water front, shooting SW
BO-46- 377 Penticton water front, shooting W
BO-48- 3535 Penticton Waterfront
BO-48- 3536 Penticton Waterfront
BO-48- 3538 Penticton Wharfs
BO-48- 3539 Penticton Small saw mill
BO-48- 3540 Penticton Small saw mill
The PDF index is great, but unfortunately the descriptions are very vague; little thumbprints would be very helpful. There are lots of other Penticton photographs listed, which might show the South Penticton rail yards.
Thanks – Michael
Hi Michael, wow, thanks for the interest. Unfortunately, there are over 8000 images so thumbnails aren’t really a possibility. I’ve started on the first image, but will all the images you’ve listed, I’ve got about 30 hours of work ahead of me.
Is there a particular site you’re looking for that I might be able to spot in the imagery?
Hi Mark, thanks for your reply. I would be interested in the KVR waterfront station as well as the KVR South Penticton station with whole rail yard. I could e-mail you some pictures I have that would show those two areas, but then I would need your e-mail address.
Thanks – Michael
Sure, send it to info @ and then the name of the web site, vintageairphotos.com. (Trying to keep spam down.)
Anything from Victoria . Thanks
Hi Bob, do you have a frame number you’re interested in? If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the Image Index that lists all the frames and their numbers, located here: http://vintageairphotos.com/image-index/
Hi, do you have any older photos of New Westminster:
-woodwards store
-Columbia st.
-queens park
-12th st
-6th st
-photos of Queensborough
Thanks. I was born and raised there.

Hello, the idea was that you could look through the “Image Index” PDF file and pick out a couple of New West images and request those. I’m trying to push the searching of images onto the requestor, that way I can spend more time scanning and posting. Thanks!
