BO-56-400 : New Post Office Vancouver
This is a really cool image of downtown Vancouver from 1956 during construction of the new Post Office. When the post office opened in 1958, it was the largest single building in Vancouver and was the world’s largest welded steel structure which incorporated state-of-the art technology, such as ramps and elevators to move trucks between levels, and a 2,400-foot long underground conveyor belt system linking the building and the CPR Waterfront Station.
Wow. Such an amazing amount of detail and depth, as well as information in just one photo!
