Amazing picture, to the west of Dock St was the Heaney’s storage building. The house at the corner of Dock and Dallas was owned by a Mr. Ketchel when I was a kid. The house to the east at Pilot and Dallas was built by Arnold and Irene Mann it is still owned by their daughter June. The building across the street was the Boys scout hall. (House there now) The house next to the hall was owned by Lila & Chess Torville, who was part owner of Oakland Fisheries where the Victoria Harbourside Hotel is now. To the north east side of Pilot, across the lane, was the Ponsford home 15 Pilot and next to that was my parents home 21 Pilot. In 2012 we raised the old house and built the current duplex (4 generations now on same property)
Wonderful. James Bay before all the high-rises. Nice to see all the old houses, and Capt. John Irving’s beautiful home in Irving Park.
I did not realize there was a gun position at the end of the dock. Great photo
The large building by McDonald Park would have been a carpet factory- I think it was “Columbia Carpet”
Does anyone know , is that a Roller skating rink Near Macdonald Park and The White Eagle Hall ?
It may be high altitude, but it captures pretty much all of the CNR Ogden Point terminal. Really great view….Thanks!
Interesting Post For Me , Thanks . Too Bad the clarity wasn’t as good as some of the others.
