BO-47-1558 : Lansdowne Park Racetrack
This is the Lansdowne Park Racetrack in 1947. It was located where Lansdowne Center Mall now sits in Richmond. Check out the horse race…in-progress.
Hello, it is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the upcoming shutdown of Vintage Air Photos. My hosting provider has increased rates for storage and the very large images this website uses now cost more in a month than the website makes per year. I will try to keep the website up for several more weeks but I imagine Vintage Air Photos will go offline mid-October. If there are any images you would like to keep viewing, now would probably be a good time to make a purchase. Thanks for all the views over the years.

The rider is standing by in case of a horse pile-up which does happen ..alongside notice the ambulance also there in case of emergency. That rider’s job would be to catch any stray horses that may have lost their riders. I lived in the house you can see just behind the grandstand..
I don’t know much about horse races, but why is there a single horse and rider standing casually at the first turn with the rest of the pack thundering towards them?
